Baby Hand and Foot Casting Techniques
The Baby Casting Process in a Nutshell
Baby Hand and Foot Casting is a process which allows you to create a life-sized replica of your little one's hands and feet so that you can remember just how tiny they are now in years to come!
Where are the different steps of baby hand and foot casting?
1) Mix the moulding gel powder with cold tap water and spoon into the supplied moulding bag.
2) Place your baby's hand or foot into the bag making sure the gel is covering the hand/foot until it sets (2-3 mins) The mould then just slips off like a rubber slipper/glove leaving the baby's hand or foot clean.
3) allowing you to pour the stone mixture into the mould.
Allow the stone to set, peel away your mould and finish as desired.
Baby Casting FAQ
What is the moulding material used in baby hand and foot casting - is it safe?
Completely safe! Our baby hand and foot casting kits use dental grade alginate used by dentists to make mouldings of your teeth (this just proves how safe it is as it goes in the mouth!) which means the detail is breathtaking - you even capture the texture of the skin. Some budget life casting kits on the market use 'craft' grade alginate which can take longer to set (ours sets in only 2-3 mins!) and does not capture the amazing detail that you get with our alginate.
Does my baby have to be asleep?
NO- your baby does not have to be asleep like other kits on the market. It really doesn't matter if the baby wriggles - trust me the moulding material is amazing!!
